Find ITT (BETA) Search Options

Search Find ITT for articles, journals and books on online databases

The Find ITT Search options outlined above work with the library's print and electronic journals and books to help you find the most relevant titles and articles for your assignment. For further information click on the links on the right hand side of this page to view the guides to using the different parts of Find ITT. Please click on the tabs to use the Find ITT services, or try out the search box above selecting a combination of databases to search.

Find ITT Search

Find ITT Basic Search searches across several pre-selected databases and the library catalogue at the one time. On the basic search page you can select your area of study and search only databases that are relevant to it. This is a great way to get started on your research. If you want to search for the exact title put it in inverted commas. ("Reflecting on the strategy process"). This will give you fewer more accurate results.

Find ITT Advanced Search searches across several pre-selected databases and the library catalogue at the one time. On the Advanced search page you can select your area of study and search only databases that are relevant to it or you can select databases from the list and search your own selection. This page also allows you to use Boolean/Advanced searching so you can be specific about a title, or author, or combine an author with a subject etc. This is a great way to find more specific items to help with your research.

Each of the library's subject portals now have a Find ITT search box that searches the databases and electronic journals that are relevant to that subject.

Find ITT Search results

Find ITT gives you the first twenty results from each selected database that match your search. On the left hand side of the screen you will see a list of the databases that you searched and the total number of results that matched your search for each database. Clicking on the name of the database here will bring you to that database. The search results themselves are organised as follows:

  • The title of the article / citation / book is a hyperlink. Clicking on this will bring you to the online full text if available, or the citation or the catalogue information for the book.
  • The Where can I find this button where can I find thiswill take the details of the result and run it through the Go Find ITT search to see if we have access to it elsewhere. This is useful if you find a citation rather than a full text article.
  • The ( take this search to....) will take your search and run it on the database where the result was found and bring you to the results page for your search on that database.

Go Find ITT

The Go Find ITT Form is a search that you can use to find an exact article, book, conference proceeding etc. This form takes your information and searches against the Library's databases, e-journals and catalogue to locate the title you are looking for. If the Library can provide access the result list will include a link to the print or online title. If the Library cannot provide access then it will help you log on and submit an Inter Library Loan request for the title. Just follow the onscreen instructions or see the ILL guide for help.
